*IMPORTANT* IF YOUR ACCOUNT HAS LESS THAN 10 MINUTES ON IT WHEN YOU LOG OFF THEY WILL WIPE IT AND THERE ARE NO SIGNS OR DISCLAIMERS FOR THIS. Nontheless it is overall a very decent gaming cafe, prices are good and fair for the PC you have access to. A small upgrade in the future would be necessary. Unfortunately there are some small issues with the staff struggling to understand English well, plus the PC's log in and monitoring software is still not in English which can feel confusing and somewhat deceptive. Additionally, some customers can be loud and the headsets are not noise cancelling. There is, however, a good assortment of snacks and drinks available at affordable prices, most areas are very clean and sanitised and the chairs are quite comfortable. Can't really recommend a better place!

Couldn’t give 69 stars but 5/5 is close enough. Use to go to gcastle a lot while I was saving up to fix my home pc. Super lovely staff and great atmosphere. Met a fair few of my gaming buddies while at g castle and will always be a special place to me

Great price, loved coming here after work in the city to unwind and for the atmosphere even though I have a gaming PC at home.

Machines are all decent spec, peripherals are always in good nic considering the amount of people that use them and staff are always happy to help if there’s an issue.

I have a teenage boy with an online gaming obsession. The school holidays been very tough because I want him to assimilate with friends and get into physical activities, but he has a tendency towards anything with a screen. He also has a tendency to get on chat forums and friend the wrong people - who ultimately lead him astray.

He has discovered G Castle - a 24/7 gaming lounge in the city. I have allowed him some agreed (but limited time) at G Castle in order to keep the peace. Limited blocks of time and home at a decent hour etc. A key condition is that he leaves his find-my-phone and Life 360 tracking on and he communicates when required.

The one positive is that G Castle works like a babysitting service - at least we know where he is. On the other hand I feel trapped and helpless because I have to work daily and cannot strictly supervise my boy. I feel like I have fueled his addiction. I'm damned if I do damned if I don't. My boy comes home pale and washed out - with stinking attitude.

I'll get to the point of this review. My boy had recently been generally been pretty good with his communication and adherence to agreed time frames at G Castle. He'd worked out that good comms meant more relaxations. Last night he had a relapse - basically made himself unable to be contacted and shot way past the agreed time to return home. After countless attempts to contact my son via calls and text - I decided to ring the business. At 10pm I rang the G Castle mobile number and asked that they pass a message to my son to call me. I could see that he was at the location. By this stage he had been there for over 9 hours. They flatly refused, sighting privacy as the issue. Despite me explaining that he was a minor - they still refused.

Due to his age I am required to sign off on every key decision in his world. That's basically how our society governs my conduct as a parent. I therefore believe that I have a right to ask a staff member of a business that is sapping my son's savings to allow me make contact with my son.

I queried if there was a way to have my son barred from G Castle. Again privacy was the issue.

In summary, I think people who run these businesses fully understand gaming addiction - to the point that they prey on susceptible individuals (mostly young people) for financial gain. Their selfish attitude has ramifications to the individual and the people and families surrounding them. I am not for one minute claiming I am innocent here. I feel completely responsible for my predicament.

I simple believe G Castle - and gaming lounges in general - should consider having a system in place that allows concerned parents the ability to have access to their kids while they use their facilities. At least implement time block limitations (on minors) during any given 24 hour period. Apparently they will allow people to game limitlessly where people even sleep for periods before starting up again.

To me this sounds like a catalyst for teen mental health concern where vulnerable teens are taken advantage of for financial gain. Maybe strict regulations should be placed on these types of businesses that engage with clientele younger than 18yo.

I think 1 star is a generous rating given the circumstances.

They sell Merlo Coffee and it is okay so 2 stars. I went there twice today and really the service is the most unfriendly I have seen. Try smiling people.
